Mid-Week magic
This week has delivered pretty epic conditions.
Wednesday my facebook acount was buzzing with people telling me how great is was.
Cold Hawaii surfcamp put this online :
Thursday I was finally able to go all though I had a super busy day at work and lots of other stuff to do. Best day of the year for me, perfect silk smooth waves, absolutely no chop set-waves that were head high . I surfed all alone for 3 hours straigth and caugth a ton of waves...
A few go pro stills from a great session. After the first few sessions on my new 6'11 , I absolutely love it. It really is a struggle paddeling the board in wind and chop but on a day like thusday it really delivers..

Spring 2.0
Starting out in early march I made a bold statement saying:" spring is here". After that we had another 4 weeks of icecold winterweather. But now I am more confident. We are blessed with mild tempratures at the moment and some really nice waves this weekend. I went for a windy sup session on friday and some really nice right hand waves at one of my favourite spot on saturday. The water is still very cold but it is finally time to loose the hoodie and the gloves..
This coming week looks promising for more action..

Fishy Buisness
Conditions have been very far from great lately. Ice cold easterly winds have meant no waves, and bitter cold.. This weekend held some promise of a litle waves. I was itching to try out my new board
and decided to give t a go on sunday. onditions vere poor to say the least. Small waves a pretty strong onshore wind and no to forget massive snow shower every now and again.The waves were choppy and the water had a strange fishy smell. All in all perfect conditions for testing out a new board. Suprisingly enough I had no real difficulty paddling the new 6.11, I fell in a couple of times , but way less then I thought i would. After all the hassle I drove home with a smile on my face in the end. Now we need some real waves and sun - please ;-) .

New Toy

March started out great with a few nice sessions but develpoed in to being the coldest march month in allmost 30 years, as I am writing this there is still snow on my porch.
So I decided to escape to somewhere a little warmer over Easter. I ended up spending 10 great days with the family in NIce at the beautiful mediterranian coastline. The weather was great as was the food, no waves or wind to be seen though.
I brougth home with me a brand new Gong Sup board, wich I am very eager to try out.
It measures 6'11 x 30' , volumen : 115 l
Having it in hand it seams ridicously tiny..
I am 6 feet (185cm) my self and weigh around 85 kg ( probably more at the moment after eating french pastry for 10 days straigth. )
